Doors Open Barrie takes place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, featuring a variety of sites open for public tours from 10am to 4pm. Step inside local landmarks, heritage treasures and creative spaces! Go behind the scenes, explore unique architecture, and uncover the stories and places that make our community special.
Doors Open Barrie is supported by Creative Barrie, the cultural development branch of the Economic & Creative Development Department. This year, Doors Open Barrie is incorporated into the City’s Culture Days programming. When paired with Culture Days, it provides a unique opportunity to present free, hands-on arts activities in Doors Open sites, giving residents and visitors a chance to learn about Barrie’s arts, heritage and business community.

About Doors Open
Doors Open is an Ontario Heritage Trust program that invites communities across the province to open the doors, gates and courtyards of their unique and most fascinating cultural sites so residents and visitors can see inside! It’s a chance to explore Ontario’s heritage treasures at free public events across the province.
The program was launched in 2002 to create access, awareness and excitement about the province’s heritage and it provides unique opportunities to explore and enjoy some of the most interesting places in Ontario cities, towns and villages.
