The Starter Company Plus program is funded by the government of Ontario and delivered by the Small Business Centre of Barrie, Simcoe County and Orillia. The program is designed to help entrepreneurs start, grow or buy a business. Participants receive mentorship from experienced business professionals, access to valuable training and networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to pitch for up to $5,000 in micro-grants.

Meet Jenna Rossiter and Bitters Cocktail Co
Bitters Cocktail Co is what you get when you combine a culinary background with a flair for bartending! Jenna Rossiter, founder and lead bartender, has spent her entire career in the hospitality industry, beginning as a chef. With a 15-year culinary background, she has an impeccable palate, and a knack for creativity. Bartending has allowed her to combine her culinary skills with her love of people, creating stunning drinks and memorable experiences. Menus are custom created to suit the needs and personal style of the host, allowing Bitters Cocktail Co to offer an array of services and styles to fit any type of event.

- What is your favourite part about being an entrepreneur?
My favourite part of being an entrepreneur is the freedom to create unique experiences for people. I love that I get to bring joy and excitement to every event with personalized cocktails and a fresh approach to service. It's empowering to take an idea from concept to reality and know that every detail is crafted with care. Plus, the connections I make with my clients and seeing their reactions when we exceed expectations—that's priceless!
- What inspired you to start a business?
I’ve always been passionate about bringing people together and creating special moments, but I wanted to do it with a focus on exceptional quality and personalized service. The inspiration for my mobile bar business came from my love for craft cocktails and the desire to elevate events with more creative, curated drink experiences. I saw an opportunity to deliver not just fun and flavour, but also a level of professionalism and attention to detail that ensures every event is truly memorable. For me, it's about exceeding expectations and making sure every element, from the cocktails to the service, reflects the highest standards.
- What services/ products do you offer?
We offer a fully customizable mobile bar experience tailored to any event, whether it’s a wedding, corporate gathering, or private party. Our services include multiple tiered packages, ranging from essential bar setups to premium, all-inclusive options. We feature craft cocktails created with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and we work with clients to design signature drinks that match their event’s style and theme. From a casual cocktail hour to a high-end mixology experience, we provide professional bartending, top-tier service, and everything needed for an unforgettable bar experience.
- Who do you look up to for inspiration when it comes to either being an entrepreneur or your business?
I really look up to Mr. Lyan (Ryan Chetiyawardana) for how he’s revolutionized the cocktail industry with sustainability, creativity, and a focus on creating a healthy, supportive work environment. His approach shows that excellence in service and innovation can go hand in hand with being a great employer. Closer to home, I’m inspired by local entrepreneurs who prioritize their teams and foster a positive workplace culture, like ACCatering, while delivering exceptional service. I believe that building a business where employees feel valued is key to providing the best experience for clients, and that’s something I aim to do with my business.
- How did you come up with your business name?
The name came from my love of bitters—an ingredient that often works quietly in the background but can completely transform a cocktail when used just right. Bitters add depth, balance, and complexity, and that’s exactly what I aim to do with my business: elevate every event with thoughtful, nuanced details. The name also hints at the bit of edge and boldness in my style, setting the tone for a bar experience that’s both refined and unexpected.
- What is unique about your business?
What sets my business apart is the combination of a fully customizable mobile bar experience with a strong focus on quality and creativity. We don’t just serve drinks; we craft personalized cocktail experiences that reflect the style and preferences of each client. Our all-inclusive packages allow for a seamless, stress-free planning process, and our commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients ensures that every cocktail is not only delicious but also memorable. Additionally, we prioritize creating a positive, engaging atmosphere, making every event feel special and unique. It’s about more than just serving drinks; it’s about elevating the entire experience.
- What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself through your entrepreneurial journey?
One of the most surprising things I’ve learned about myself on this entrepreneurial journey is just how adaptable and creative I can be. Challenges often arise, but instead of feeling overwhelmed, I’ve found that I thrive in those moments, using my creativity to devise unique solutions. I also have a strong desire to provide a tailored, made-for-you experience, which taps into my ability to read people and understand their needs. This combination allows me to craft personalized experiences that truly resonate with my clients. It’s incredibly fulfilling to use my skills to create memorable moments that reflect their vision and enhance their events.
- What’s the best piece of advice you would give to another entrepreneur?
Decide how you want to show up and then do it consistently. Everything you do – every encounter you have – is a reflection of you as a person and a business owner. Be the type of person you would want if you hired someone to do the job, and be the type of person you would want as an employer for your team. Everyday is another chance to show up as yourself. Don’t forget who you are.
- What do you hope to achieve through the Starter Company Plus program?
Through the Starter Company Plus program, I hope to gain valuable insights and skills that will help me refine and grow my business. I’m eager to learn from experienced mentors and connect with other entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and strategies. My goal is to enhance my marketing efforts, streamline my operations, and develop a more structured approach to scaling my business. I also aim to grow as a person and ensure I’m equipped to handle the growth of my business effectively.
