    Attention Local Artists!

The City of Barrie invites proposals from local digital artists or graphic designers to design the trophy that will be awarded at the seventh annual Mayor’s Innovation Awards. The winning design will be fabricated by the Georgian College Makerspace

The design should reflect the theme, Innovation in Barrie, which will align with the award categories. The selected artist or graphic designer will receive a monetary award for their winning design.

Submit your proposed design by Monday, May 12 at 5pm, and review the call to artists for full information.

The seventh Mayor’s Innovation Awards is aimed to discover stories of strength, creativity and adaptation from across the city of Barrie. These awards recognize businesses, individuals and organizations whose innovative approaches and sheer determination contribute to a resilient foundation for our city.

Five award categories are returning in 2025, including Pivot Point, Creative Collaboration, Youth Innovator, Research & Innovation Contribution and crowd favourite, Shift Disturber. The Municipal Innovation category, which debuted in 2023, will also return, showcasing the City of Barrie’s commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in public service. This category has a separate submission process. Stay tuned for the launch of this year's nomination portal!
