Culture Days is a three-week festival that celebrates arts and culture across Canada. This year, Culture Days took place from September 20 to October 13, 2024 in the City of Barrie. The celebrations were glorious and colourful, and provided community members with access to free and diverse artistic and cultural experiences.

Winners of the 2023 Barrie Arts Awards Announced

The Barrie Arts Awards 2023 gala was held on November 14th at the MacLaren Art Centre and featured award presentations in seven categories, performances demonstrating the diverse talent in our region, and celebration of the sector. The event has played a significant role in strengthening and profiling the dynamic arts community in the city, and in engaging the business and philanthropic sectors in supporting the arts in Barrie since 2008.
April is National Poetry Month!

It is April, and the City of Barrie is celebrating National Poetry Month! Mayor Alex Nuttall presented a proclamation deeming April Poetry Month in Barrie, and Barrie’s Poet Laureate, Tyneisha Thomas read a special poem marking the occasion at Barrie City Council.
