The Starter Company Plus program is funded by the Government of Ontario and delivered by the Small Business Centre of Barrie, Simcoe County and Orillia. The program is designed to help entrepreneurs start, grow or buy a business. Participants receive mentorship from experienced business professionals, access to valuable training and networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to pitch for up to $5,000 in micro-grants.

Tristan Rodriguez and Stormwood Productions offers video content creation for commercials and brand/product promotion. Stormwood Productions takes your concept from consultation through planning, filming, and even editing, delivering a professional video that is ready for use on social media and company websites. With a deep love for creating and retelling a story piece by piece, Tristan loves bringing a brand and vision to life.

- What is your favourite part about being an entrepreneur?
My favourite part of being an entrepreneur is being my own boss and meeting new people.
- What inspired you to start a business?
I am excited to pave a new path as the first person in my family to explore having my own business. Being an entrepreneur also gives me the opportunity to expand my abilities.
- What services/ products do you offer?
Stormwood Productions offers comprehensive video production on a cinematic level, taking clients every step of the way from idea generation to planning, to filming, and through the final editing processes.
- Who do you look up to for inspiration when it comes to either being an entrepreneur or your business?
A friend of mine who has her own business and is very successful.
- How did you come up with your business name?
I thought of something ridiculous and then expanded from there.
- What is unique about your business?
Stormwood Productions makes memorable commercials and social media videos that are trend-relevant and high quality, while operating out of the Simcoe County region.
- What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself through your entrepreneurial journey?
That I could start with an idea and turn it into a reality, when I didn’t know I’d get this far.
- What’s the best piece of advice you would give to another entrepreneur?
Always make a plan, and never turn down the opportunity to learn something new.
- What do you hope to achieve through the Starter Company Plus program?
I hope to walk away with at least a more structured look at what I can do for my business, and a plan for how to be more successful in the long run.
