Summer Company Spotlight: Midhurst Mini-Cart

Posted

The Summer Company program is funded by the Government of Ontario and delivered by the Small Business Centre of Barrie, Simcoe County and Orillia. The program is designed to empower young entrepreneurs aged 15 to 29 by providing them with the resources and support they need to start and run their own summer businesses. Participants receive up to $3,000 in financial assistance, mentorship from experienced business professionals, and access to valuable training and networking opportunities.

Meet Anson Reesor and Midhurst Mini-Cart

Midhurst Mini-Cart, created by Anson Reesor, is a mobile ice cream bicycle service based in Midhurst that brings a variety of popular pre-packaged frozen treats directly to the community. Focused on convenience and a nostalgic customer experience, the business serves residents of all ages by offering accessible, affordable ice cream in neighborhoods, parks, and local gathering areas throughout the summer.

“I started this business because I wanted to do more with my summer.”

What are your top three goals for your business this summer?
  1. Attract investors
  2. Learn to balance work and life
  3. Generate profits
What does success look like for you at the end of the Summer Company program?

"Success means earning more than I invested to start the business."

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone looking to start their own business?

“Your life will stay the same as long as you do nothing with it, start that business if you want to own your future.”
