The Summer Company program is funded by the government of Ontario and delivered by the Small Business Centre of Barrie, Simcoe County and Orillia. The program is designed to empower young entrepreneurs aged 15 to 29 by providing them with the resources and support they need to start and run their own summer businesses. Participants receive up to $3,000 in financial assistance, mentorship from experienced business professionals, and access to valuable training and networking opportunities.

What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur?
The thing I enjoy most about being an entrepreneur is creating my own hours and working for myself. I like that I have no one else to rely on but me.
What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself through your entrepreneurial journey?
The connections I’ve made with my clients have been the most surprising and rewarding aspect of this journey.
What’s the best piece of advice you would give to another youth entrepreneur?
Perseverance, dedication, and hard work create a successful business. Try your best, and things will work out.
What do you hope to achieve through the Summer Company program?
I hope to establish a well-established business that can continue to grow in the years to come.
