On Friday, November 17, 2023, Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall helped break ground on an exciting and crucial development that will support local tourism initiatives.
Located on Bryne Drive in the city’s south end will be a new 6-floor, 100-room Holiday Inn branded hotel, adding more accommodation options for visitors to Barrie.
Alongside Mayor Nuttall was Jay Panchal, President of Northpark Hospitality, the firm building the new hotel. Northpark has a vision to continue development with a second hotel in the future.
Cultural, sport and leisure tourism are all targeted tourism sectors in Barrie. Ensuring that a sufficient stock of welcoming accommodations is available for all those who visit our city is key to a positive tourist experience and increases the likelihood of return visits, supporting the continued growth of the visitor economy in Barrie.
