Invest Barrie was proud to sponsor the Team Kits for the second annual NASA Space Apps Challenge hosted by Lakehead University. It was fantastic seeing participants proudly sporting Invest Barrie stickers on their notebooks and shirts throughout the event!
Sarah Young from the Invest Barrie team joined the action to deliver a presentation on pitching and mentored teams as they tackled real-world challenges using NASA’s open data. Hearing teams talk about how to turn food waste into entertainment and future collectors’ items, to the need to create dashboards on how to track asteroids, it was clear that the energy, collaboration, and creativity on display were nothing short of innovative.
