Catching up with past Mayor’s Innovation Award winner: Barrie Families Unite

In 2020, Barrie Families Unite was the recipient of the Community Impact Mayor’s Innovation Award. On March 14, 2020, Barrie Families Unite started as a Facebook group as a place to facilitate help within the community due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Facebook group grew and Barrie Families Unite has now become a registered not-for-profit dedicated to helping our community. Barrie Families Unite collaborates with multiple other organizations within Barrie to ensure that the needs and assistance of community members are being met.
