Invest Barrie’s fourth annual Business and Employer Data Survey is underway! This project aims to update employment data for businesses within the City of Barrie. Data gathered through the survey will also be used for strategic planning purposes and will help us track patterns of economic growth and industry shifts. After participating in the survey, businesses are given a free listing in an online business directory.
Five dedicated students make up the team of Business and Employer Data Collectors this summer. These students will be visiting all businesses located in the employment and commercial areas of the city from May until August. So, if you see them out there, be sure to say hello!
Here is a little more about each of the students who may be paying your workplace a visit.
Salena D.
Salena is entering her fourth year of her Bachelor of Arts at Carleton University, where she is majoring in Law and minoring in Criminology. Salena is hoping to attend law school and pursue a career in law following the conclusion of her undergraduate studies. She is currently most interested in family law.
Georgia H.
Georgia attends the University of New Brunswick, where she is entering her fourth year of her Bachelor of Arts. She is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. Georgia is planning on using the skills that she develops over the summer in her future endeavours involving psychological research and development. She is hoping to work as a lab instructor before attending grad school.
Sabrina S.
Sabrina is a fourth-year student at McGill University, where she is obtaining a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Political Science. After the completion of her undergraduate studies, Sabrina is planning on attending grad school to complete a master’s degree. She eventually wants to work in academia or public policy.
Jack R.
Jack just completed his first year of his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. With the intention of pursuing a career in business management after the completion of his undergraduate degree, Jack is excited to work with Invest Barrie this summer to become more familiar with the business realm.
Juliana A.
Juliana is currently a student in the Research Analyst Program at Georgian College. She is originally from Brazil, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Federal University of Ceara for 15 years. Juliana is joining Invest Barrie as the co-op student for this summer as she begins her new career in data and research analytics.
